Barn Door or Garden Door?

Here is my latest Genuinely Jane Studio‘s Project.  This one is for my oldest daughter.  She wants to add a few photos to the inside of her bird feeders & hopefully birds~

I used the GJS Barn Door Book and created a table top photo book.  Inside we will attach a clear flip book so my daughter can add her photos. My daughter says it’s a Garden Door Book.. so I added a bird, a fence, and a few flowers to keep with the theme she wanted.

New month, New Challenge

Happy February~  One of my favorite months, but also the coldest.   Perfect month to stay inside and craft like crazy. I am a couple of days late getting this post up.. sorry we were still voting on our January Challenge and I stayed off the computer yesterday for my birthday.

Congratulations to our January 2013 Challenge winner.. it was a very close call but,  Traci B from Scrappy Daze  had the most votes.. congrats. As soon as you get me your address I will send you your prize.  Thank you for the 55 entries we received the last month.. hopefully you are coming back for our Material/Fabric Challenge.

February’s Challenge is our Material Challenge.  Time to use your Wool,  Burlap, Canvas, Felt, Fabric, Fussy or soft stuff.. as long as you are using material of some kind you can submit it.

Please make sure you are linking your project back to your post and you are mentioning our challenge in your post.

Here is a look at what some of the designers did for this challenge.  You have a short month to work with so you should get started soon.

Here is the prize package for February.  Our Designer Laura Cox is hosting this month’s challenge so she will be sending you all of this.  feblaura

Last but not least.. meet Kelly, my newest Design Team Member.

Meet Kelly Starsky!
I am inspired by the everyday.

It may be the funny things my children say (4 of them, 2 girls and 2 boys, ages 8, 10, 13, and 15). Such as wondering, why is that movie called “Dirty Dancing”? Do they get dirty and then dance?

It might be the funny things my dogs do (2 of them, 2 boys, ages 2 and 7). Such as “fetching” a back-end of a dead bunny and dropping it at my feet while I sit in my scrap dungeon.

It might be my ugly bathroom tile. Or my husband’s bike. Or the Indian corn-growing in the garden. Or the pattern in my shower curtain. Or the method that I use to fold boxes. Or a photo of a frog climbing up my garage. Or my “new to me” mini-van. Or the words to a song. Or my son’s cheesehead hat (yes, I live in Wisconsin).

It might be a little creativity added to photography, mixed with painting, tossed with beads, sprinkled with bling. Occasionally sewing (straight lines only). Never knitting. Sometimes there is a small spoonful of desperation and procrastination mixed in too. My style? I describe it as “a little bit of everything.”

Being a mom to 4, wife to 1, dog-mom to 2, pediatric physical therapist, artist, pathological picture-taker, Girl Scout troop leader, painter, cook/baker, and Sunday school teacher means I am busy (or crazy, or maybe a little of both).

Scrapbooking (and all of my artsy passions) let me bring all of these layers of my life together. And then, I have a reason to escape to my craft dungeon too.

You can see my artsy escapades at my blog, She’s the Crafty Neighbor

Kelly is also  a member of the Design Team for Chicagoland Scrapbooker.

You can find Kelly on Pinterest too.
