Pocket Full of?

Today is day two of showing off the New Linnie Blooms Flourish Pockets.. I was assigned day two.. all of the other posts are on the Linnie Blooms blog.

Here are the links to see what Linda did with the pocket on Day one.. and go back the rest of the week to see what the other designers do.

I love this canvas pocket… I have hung it from my mini Melissa Frances hanger for right now.. but it would also be really cute on the cover of my mini canvas book I am working on.  I put my business cards in it for now.  What would you do with this cute pocket?

I used my blue Tulip Soft paint for the top portion of the pocket. I then used Rose & Wild Raspberry Scribbles 3D fabric Paints for the pinks. A Heidi Swapp Stencil was used for texture.

Finished pocket holding my Business Cards.

I used a Melissa Frances hanger to hold my pocket and the Tulle trim around the pocket is also Melissa Frances. I died my ribbon the same blue as the pocket, and added a Pink Paislee button for an embellishment.

My Favorite Things Friday

It’s finally the weekend and I totally feel like I accomplished a lot this week.  I am still behind on posts, pinning, and craft projects, but I did get a few big things done this week.  I don’t know about you but I am already planning my Holiday classes and projects.  For my favorite things Friday post,  I made a project using two of my favorite things… Items from Tim Holtz & Melissa Frances.

I call this my Christmas in a  Box~  I love the configurations boxes from Tim Holtz, this is the first one that I actually painted.  I usually cover it with his tape or paper.  I used his hardware and trinkets.  You can see I used Melissa Frances products too.  I used her paper, tags, trees, tinsel, key, lock, and glitter.  I made this for my two daughters.  I have Santa featured as much as I could, since my girls still believe in Santa.

New Year’s Giveaway & 6 years ago…

Happy New Year!

Today I am working on my Bucket List, To Do list, and my New Year Resolutions list.  While thinking about what I want to accomplish in 2012 I started to think… how did I get where I am?

6 years ago I was a proud owner of my own Live Trivia  business, which I owned for 7 years.  I sold my business and then for 10 months I tried to figure out what I wanted to do next.  I knew I didn’t want to  go work for someone after owning my own business , so I had to start another business.   I knew that I wanted another job where I was working with  people all the time, sharing something that I loved doing, and being creative at the same time.  Hosting Trivia was so much fun, so my new job had to be fun too!   I also knew that my new business had to be something I could do no matter where I lived.

I had to think about what I enjoyed doing and how I could make it into a full-time job.  I was a mother, wife, and a scrapbooker.  That’s it, I love Scrapbooking!  Hello,  Scrap It Girl!  The name of my business made sense at the time since while owning my trivia business I was known as Trivia Girl, no one knew my real name.  I figured it worked for 7 years, I would try it again.

So here I am in 2012 starting my 5th year as Scrap It Girl.  I am doing what I love!  I am crafting everyday, designing for a few local stores, writing a few crafty articles for my favorite online site PaperCrafters Corner, and I am teaching all kinds of craft classes at 6 different locations.

So if you don’t mind I am a little excited for this New Year to get started! I have big plans for my 5th Year  and I can’t wait to share it with all of you.  Let’s start out with 4 giveaways in January, followed by some prizes in February when I return from the Winter CHA in California and I turn 40!  Oh my…

Here is the 1st giveaway for 2012.  All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me what’s on your bucket list for 2012 and  subscribe to my posts, all you need is an email address.

New Years Giveaway!
