New month, New Challenge

Happy February~  One of my favorite months, but also the coldest.   Perfect month to stay inside and craft like crazy. I am a couple of days late getting this post up.. sorry we were still voting on our January Challenge and I stayed off the computer yesterday for my birthday.

Congratulations to our January 2013 Challenge winner.. it was a very close call but,  Traci B from Scrappy Daze  had the most votes.. congrats. As soon as you get me your address I will send you your prize.  Thank you for the 55 entries we received the last month.. hopefully you are coming back for our Material/Fabric Challenge.

February’s Challenge is our Material Challenge.  Time to use your Wool,  Burlap, Canvas, Felt, Fabric, Fussy or soft stuff.. as long as you are using material of some kind you can submit it.

Please make sure you are linking your project back to your post and you are mentioning our challenge in your post.

Here is a look at what some of the designers did for this challenge.  You have a short month to work with so you should get started soon.

Scrap It Girls Monthly Challenges

For those of you that regularly follow my challenges or for those of you who may be new… did you know I list my challenges ahead of time?  If you look at the tab on top I have a page just for my challenges.  You can view my schedule usually 3-4 months in advance.  You can also enter up to 3 projects per challenge.  I also have my design team and a few other blogger friends view each project and list their top 3 projects.  The project with the most votes wins!~  As long as you posted the challenge on your site and linked correctly.  So far I have been having great success with this method and I have had great feed back.  The only problem is there is always a real close 2nd~  I am thinking about adding a 2nd place prize.  It may not be as big as 1st place but I think it’s better than nothing.  The 2nd prize winner will start with the August Challenge.
Here is a quick list of what’s coming up.. no excuses, you can start planning your projects now~
  •  July Challenge: Host Becky: good things come in small packages
  • August Challenge: #’s:  create something w/ Numbers, phone #’s, favorite #, an age.. whatever you want.  I love #’s.
  • September: A Recipe Challenge: Twine, Arrows, Circles, Bird & the color Red
  • October: Button Challenge: Use at least 12 buttons
  • November:  Trees:  any kind of tree, stamped, cut out, drawn, pictures,
  • December: Tick Tock, show us a clock!
Thank you for all the interest in joining my design team.. I still have a few more emails to go through but I will be contacting you.  I did however loose/delete on accident one of the emails.. if you haven’t heard from me by now it may have been you.. please resend me a message.  Thank you~

Happy July 1st! Design Team News & Happy News~

I will be there July 15-19.  I am so excited to say that I will be working in the PINK PAISLEE & HEIDI SWAPP booth on Tuesday July 17th.  I am also attending a few other exciting events, but I am waiting till it gets closer to reveal all of my plans.

Other news..  I decided to apply to be on The Practical Scrappers design team and this is the email I received…

“We had so many wonderful applications to consider and we want to thank all of you who applied.  It was a blast hopping around to all of your blogs to check out your work!
Here are the ladies who were chosen to be added to our design team.”
I have never been on a design team for anyone other than my LSS, which I will still continue working with.. I love Hannah’s!
Check out the Practical Scrappers blog and keep an eye on all of their wonderful designers~
I am also excited to say, today 4 of my projects will be published in the on-line Magazine Scrap n’ Art, here are just two of my published projects.. or I should say one of them is mine and one of them in my 9-year-old daughters..  Check out the magazine to see my other published projects and to see the rest of this AWESOME magazine~

The July challenge is supposed to start today but with this being a Holiday weekend and parade day for most of us.. the post probably won’t go up until tomorrow.  I will also announce the June Challenge winner tomorrow too.  You still have one more day to get in on my Webster’s Pages giveaway since the comment link wasn’t working for the first few days.. I will announce that winner with the next post.

Today is also the 1st day of my annual craft fair.. located in my Scrap It Girl studio.. so if you are a local crafter stop by to shop!  New things will be added almost daily.

Well that’s it for now, have a great day & Have a Happy 4th of July~
